Jerusalem - Old City

Jerusalem, the golden city built millennia ago, whispers its history through the wind that caresses its ancient walls. As the capital of Israel, and standing out on ancient maps as the epicenter of the world, Jerusalem stands as a melting pot of cultures and beliefs.

Let's enter the Old City, surrounded by walls that divide its Jewish, Armenian, Christian and Muslim parts.

Within these walls are the holiest sites for major religions: the Western Wall for Jews, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians, and the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount for Muslims.

The Western Wall Square attracts millions of worshippers who offer prayers and heartfelt wishes between the cracks of this sacred vestige.

Exploring further, we discover prominent Jewish sites such as the Kotel Tunnels, the astonishing Davidson Center, the Jewish Quarter with its magnificent Thistle Synagogue, and the majestic Citadel of David south of the Old City, the original cradle of Jerusalem

In Christian history, Jerusalem occupies a crucial place, being the scene of the life and death of Jesus Christ. The Via Dolorosa, in the Christian quarter, follows Jesus' final steps towards his crucifixion on the mount, culminating in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which houses significant Christian relics such as the Anointing Stone and the Tomb of Jesus.

To the southwest, Mount Zion is home to the Dormition Abbey, commemorating Mary's last night, along with the Hall of the Last Supper and the tomb of King David, essential to the Jewish people.

The traditional neighborhoods of the Old City, Muslim, Jewish, Christian and Armenian, bear witness to the rich history that led Jerusalem to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. This unique city, with more than five millennia of history, connects deeply with the three major monotheistic religions and fuses their legacy with a modern life that rivals any European capital.

Here, one can travel between worlds, from immersion in biblical history to a modern and stylish wine bar in the blink of an eye.
